Who We Are
No boutique would be complete without its most important accessories – the fashionistas who help bring outfits to life. The Ultimate Closet’s fashion-first team is always on the ready to put together just the right outfit for you.
Patti Schisel, owner
Patti’s story: From the time she was in junior high school, Patti was passionate about fashion and dreamed of owning her own business. By high school, she spent Fridays shopping for new outfits and wearing scarves and logo T-shirts. She pursued fashion merchandising in college, but never put her degree to work for anyone but herself until the 1990s, when her kids were teens. Patti worked at The Limited in downtown Green Bay and then as a special project manager for The Limited Corporation. Throughout it all, her dream was always in the back of her mind. Patti knew she wanted to open a boutique that was different from anything else in town. She knew a lot of women with great taste in clothes and great wardrobes, and she couldn’t help but wonder: What did they do with their clothes when they were bored with them? Why not buy them and resell them at a great price?
That led Patti to the concept for The Ultimate Closet. Instead of doing what other shops in town were doing – consignment – Patti decided she would purchase fashionable, trendy and designer clothes for instant cash. And she decided she wanted to create a warm, welcoming environment where people could ask their fashion questions and learn how to dress right for their body type. “Helping women feel good about what they’re wearing is a great feeling,” said Patti.
Patti opened The Ultimate Closet in November 2005. Today, women from as far away as New York, Chicago and South Caroline sell their designer pieces to Patti for sale at The Ultimate Closet. “I buy for all kinds of tastes, but I make sure all pieces are fashionable and up to date. Our goal is to make shopping fun again!” Barb Mero Barb's story: Every since I can remember I have loved fashion. Paging through fashion magazines and keeping up with the latest trends is my hobby.
I love putting pieces together to create the perfect outfit for a special ocassion of for casual everyday wear.
I always thought to look fashionable - you needed to pay the price - that is until I discovered "The Ultimate Closet". Seeing all the great new and resale merchandise arriving weekly is so exciting, and has made me realize you don't need to spend alot to be fashionable and look great!
I am happy for the opportunity to work in such a fun place, helping the new and regular customers.
Linda Woldt Linda’s story: From as far back as I can recall, I've ALWAYS had a strong awareness and craving for fashion, design and shopping.. And I'll give my mom credit for planting those seeds. From the time I was very little, we shopped for fabric and patterns; and she sewed me stylish clothing with matching outfits for my Barbie's. And I've never let that passion for fashion die!
So working at The Ultimate Closet is the PERFECT fit for me. I'm surrounded by quality, affordable trendy items in an upscale boutique type atmosphere. And the diverse customer base is excited and enthusiastic about a unique shopping experience that promises surprises on every visit.
It's the "ultimate" work day for a fashion-conscious, shopping-loving female, who enjoys helping women express themselves with flattering apparel and accessories.
Paula Kirchman An HR director by day, Paula shows her creative side when she works part time at The Ultimate Closet. Clad with her trademark jeans and jackets, Paula loves to exercise her sense of style on customers’ behalf. "I love putting outfits, colors and accessories together," she said. "I loved being a customer here so much I just had to work here!"
Paula first discovered The Ultimate Closet when she lost 50 pounds and needed to sell her existing wardrobe and establish a new one. And she didn’t want to compromise on quality and style in the process, so she looked to resale, which she had tapped for fashion for years. "I replaced my whole wardrobe here and had so much fun shopping," she said. "I’m one of those people who gets tired of my clothes and want to change things up. And why should you have to pay full price? You don’t have to."
Paula counts herself lucky to land in such an upscale clothing store as The Ultimate Closet. "For me, it’s something that is truly fun," she said.
